The story is about a young Taoist who is in charge of watching over the sealed demons and ghosts in a temple which was attacked by bandits that broke the seal on the most powerful demon of the temple. He then goes on a journey to restore the seal, per the order of his master, and encounter many people and situations which makes him question what he knew of the world and about himself
